This Privacy Policy explains how Variance Pty Ltd operates Tipping Comp and handles information collected through this website, including Facebook Login.

Information we collect

Account details such as display name, email address, avatar, and password hash.
Facebook Login data you choose to share with us, currently your public profile, Facebook user ID, email address, and profile photo.
Tipping selections, ladder predictions, and session activity needed to run the competition.
Basic technical information such as IP address, browser user agent, and timestamps used for security and fraud prevention.

How we use your information

To create and manage your account.
To run the tipping competition, including tips, leaderboards, predictions, profile display, and notifications.
To secure the app, investigate abuse, and maintain service reliability.
To respond to support, privacy, and deletion requests.

How Facebook data is used

If you log in with Facebook, we use the data returned by Meta only to authenticate your account, link it to your profile in Tipping Comp, and show your chosen name and profile image inside the app. We do not post to Facebook on your behalf and we do not request your friends list.

Sharing and retention

We do not sell personal information or use it for advertising. Information is kept only for as long as needed to operate the competition, maintain security records, and meet legal obligations. Data may be disclosed to infrastructure or hosting providers that help us operate the app, or where required by law.

Data security

Data is stored on controlled systems and passwords are stored only as salted PBKDF2 hashes. Access is limited to administrators and service operators who need it to run the app.
